Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the kinesin-like protein family, which includes microtubule-dependent molecular motors responsible for organelle transport and chromosome movement during cell division. KIF23 cross-bridges antiparallel microtubules and drives microtubule movement in vitro. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
