MA1-40318 detects TLR2 from human samples.
It has been successfully used in FACS, immunoprecipitation, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry applications.
The MA1-40318 immunogen is proprietary.

Target Information

TLR2 (Toll-like receptor 2) is a member of the TLR family, which plays a key role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity.
TLR proteins act through adaptor molecules such as MyD88 and TIRAP to activate kinases and transcription factors like PKC alpha/beta and NF-kappa-B.
TLR2 forms heterodimers with TLR1 or TLR6 to recognize bacterial and mycoplasma lipoproteins.
It is mainly expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes and mediates host responses to Gram-positive bacteria and yeast via NF-kappaB activation.
TLR2 recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and induces cytokine production for effective immunity.
It is expressed in human tonsils, microglia, lymph nodes, appendices, and activated B-cells.
Expression levels vary by cell type: CD14+ monocytes show the highest expression, followed by CD15+ granulocytes, CD19+ B-cells, and CD3+ T-cells.
TLR2 expression is upregulated by LPS, GM-CSF, IL-1, and IL-10, and downregulated by IL-4, IFN-gamma, and TNF in monocytes.
