Target Information
eIF4E는 번역 효율 향상, 스플라이싱, mRNA 안정성, RNA 핵 수출 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여합니다. 모든 진핵세포 mRNA는 5' 말단에 7-methylguanosine cap 구조(m7GpppX)를 가지며, eIF4E는 리보솜이 mRNA의 cap 구조를 인식하도록 유도하는 번역 개시 인자입니다. eIF4E는 자유형과 EIF4F 복합체 형태로 존재하며, 번역 과정에서 속도 제한 요소로 작용합니다. EIF4F 복합체의 다른 구성 요소로는 ATPase 및 RNA helicase 활성을 가진 EIF4A(50 kD)와 EIF4G(220 kD)가 있습니다.
