Target Information
Cytokeratins are a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins with diverse biochemical properties, represented in human epithelial tissues by at least 20 polypeptides. They range in molecular weight from ~40 kDa to ~68 kDa and have isoelectric points between 4.9 and 7.8. Each cytokeratin subtype is associated with specific epithelial types and differentiation states. Cytokeratin expression patterns are widely used for distinguishing epithelial malignancies and are valuable tools in tumor diagnostics, cytopathology, and flow cytometry assays.
