Product Specific Information

MA1-06200 detects mitotic cells in human samples.
It has been successfully used in immunocytochemistry and FACS procedures.
The immunogen is total cell lysate of the human bladder carcinoma cell line T24.

Target Information

The life cycle of a eukaryotic cell consists of various phases, two of which can morphologically and biochemically be identified.
During mitosis (M-phase), the cell divides into two identical daughter cells with visible chromosome condensation and spindle formation.
In S-phase, DNA replication occurs and can be detected using biochemical techniques such as the BrdU incorporation assay.
Between M- and S-phase, two gap phases occur: G1 (between mitosis and DNA replication) and G2 (between completion of replication and onset of mitosis).
Cells may also enter G0, a quiescent phase, from G1.
Regulation of the cell cycle occurs at three major control points: G0→G1, G1→S, and G2→M transition.
