Neuregulin 1 (NRG1)는 NEU/ERBB2 수용성 티로신 키나아제와 상호작용하여 티로신 잔기 인산화를 증가시키는 44 kDa 당단백질로 처음 확인되었습니다.
NRG1 유전자는 다양한 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 여러 이소폼을 생성하며, 여기에는 Heregulins (HRGs), Glial Growth Factors (GGFs), Sensory and Motor Neuron-Derived Factor (SMDF) 등이 포함됩니다.
이들은 조직 특이적으로 발현되며 구조적으로 차이가 있습니다. HRG 이소폼은 Ig 및 EGF-like 도메인을 포함하고, GGF 및 GGF2는 kringle-like 서열과 Ig, EGF-like 도메인을 포함합니다. SMDF는 다른 이소폼과 EGF-like 도메인만 공유합니다.
