Product Specific Information
The YKIX302.9 monoclonal antibody reacts with canine CD4, a cell surface receptor expressed on most thymocytes, a subset of mature T cells, and dendritic cells. In dogs, CD4 is also highly expressed on neutrophils. CD4 binds to MHC class II on antigen-presenting cells and plays a key role in T-cell development and homeostasis.
This antibody has been reported to block MHC II-restricted T-cell responses in vivo and in vitro.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested for flow cytometry using normal canine peripheral blood cells.
Use 5 µL (0.06 µg) per test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).
Super Bright 436 is excited with a violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 436 nm.
Recommended filter: 450/50 bandpass or equivalent.
Ensure that your instrument supports this fluorochrome.
When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific interactions.

Target Information
CD4 antigen is involved in MHC class II recognition and acts as a co-receptor for HIV. It is primarily expressed on T helper cells but also found on monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
At the tissue level, CD4 is expressed in thymus, lymph nodes, tonsils, spleen, and certain non-lymphoid tissues such as brain and gut.
CD4 contributes to T-cell activation via interaction with the T-cell receptor complex and Lck kinase and may mediate neuronal damage in immune-related CNS diseases.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcripts have been identified (RefSeq, July 2017).
