Product Specific Information

This antibody detects endogenous levels of DAXX only when phosphorylated at Ser668.

Target Information

The DAXX gene encodes a multifunctional protein localized in both the nucleus and cytoplasm. It interacts with various proteins including apoptosis antigen Fas, centromere protein C, and transcription factor E26 oncogene homolog 1. In the nucleus, DAXX acts as a transcriptional repressor binding to sumoylated transcription factors. Its repression can be relieved by sequestration into promyelocytic leukemia nuclear bodies or nucleoli. DAXX also associates with centromeres during G2 phase and may regulate apoptosis in the cytoplasm. Its localization and function are modulated by post-translational modifications such as sumoylation, phosphorylation, and polyubiquitination. Multiple transcript variants exist due to alternative splicing.
