Target Information
CD336, also known as NKp44 or NCR2, is a 44-kDa transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the natural cytotoxicity receptor (NCR) family. It contains an ITIM domain in the cytoplasmic tail and requires association with DAP12 for NK cell activation.
Originally thought to be expressed only on IL-2-activated NK cells and a subset of γδ T lymphocytes, CD336 has also been detected on IL-3-stimulated plasmacytoid dendritic cells, αβ T cells in the intestinal epithelium, and T cells in cord blood.
CD336 plays a key role in the innate immune response of activated NK cells against viral infections and tumor proliferation.
