This antibody is specific for Human IL-17F.

Target Information

IL-17F (Interleukin 17F, CTLA-8) is a cytokine of the IL-17 family produced by inflammatory cells such as activated T cells, mast cells, and basophils.
IL-17F is involved in allergic airway inflammation and induces cytokines, chemokines, and adhesion molecules in epithelial, endothelial, and immune cells. It functions as a homodimer or heterodimer with IL-17A, binding to IL-17R to recruit monocytes and neutrophils by increasing chemokine production.

IL-17F also stimulates the production of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, and IL-8, and is implicated in chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
It inhibits endothelial cell angiogenesis and induces production of IL2, TGF-β, and MCP-1.
