Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This affinity-purified antibody is directed against the phosphorylated form of human EGFR protein at the pY1197 residue. Reactivity occurs against human EGFR pY1197 protein and the antibody is specific for the phosphorylated form. Reactivity with non-phosphorylated EGFR is minimal by ELISA.
BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with phosphorylated EGFR from human, mouse, and rat sources. Reactivity with EGFR from other species is unknown.

Target Information

EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) is a receptor tyrosine kinase that signals in response to various growth factors. Overexpression has been linked to numerous types of cancer, and EGFR is the target of both biological and small-molecule therapeutics.
EGFR is encoded by the EGFR gene located on chromosome 7 in humans and belongs to the HER/ERbB family, which includes ERbB2, ERbB3, and ERbB4.
Binding of ligands such as EGF and TGF-α to the extracellular domain leads to EGFR dimerization and autophosphorylation of tyrosine residues in the cytoplasmic domain.
Overexpression is observed in tumors of the head and neck, brain, bladder, stomach, breast, lung, endometrium, cervix, vulva, ovary, esophagus, and squamous cell carcinoma.
