The 8D4-8 antibody reacts with human interleukin-4 (IL-4), a 15–19 kDa cytokine secreted by Th2 cells.
It has been reported for use as a capture antibody for human IL-4 ELISA and for intracellular staining in flow cytometric analysis.
Pre-titrated and tested by intracellular staining for flow cytometry. Recommended test size: 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test (100 µL final volume).
Applicable for 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test (to be determined empirically).
Excitation: 488–561 nm; Emission: 578 nm; Laser: Blue, Green, Yellow-Green.
Post-manufacturing filtration: 0.2 µm.

Interleukin-4 (IL-4) is a pleiotropic, immune-modulatory cytokine produced by activated T cells and acts as a ligand for the IL-4 receptor.
IL-4 and IL-13 share overlapping functions due to receptor cross-binding.
STAT6 mediates the immune regulatory signaling pathway of IL-4.
IL-4 gene is part of a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 5q, located near IL13, IL3, IL5, and CSF2.
IL-4δ2 is a known splice variant of IL-4.
