Target Information
The CHD3 gene encodes a member of the chromodomain helicase DNA-binding (CHD) family, characterized by chromo domains and SNF2-related helicase/ATPase domains.
This protein is a component of the Mi-2/NuRD histone deacetylase complex, which remodels chromatin by deacetylating histones, a process essential for transcription regulation.
Autoantibodies against CHD3 are found in some dermatomyositis patients. Three alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different isoforms have been identified.
