Store vial at -20°C prior to opening. Aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below for extended storage. Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature.
Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only prior to immediate use.

This antiserum is directed against human NOTCH2. The peptide sequence shows 100% alignment with human, dog, and chimpanzee sequences. Only one non-conservative amino acid difference is found in mouse. Expected to react with rat and mouse NOTCH2. No specific data for other species.

Target Information

Neurogenic locus notch homolog protein 2 (NOTCH2) is a highly conserved receptor in the Notch signaling pathway. It is a type I transmembrane protein with multiple EGF-like repeats in its extracellular domain and diverse domains in its intracellular region.
NOTCH2 interacts with ligands Jagged1, Jagged2, and Delta1 to regulate cell fate determination.
Defects in NOTCH2 cause Alagille syndrome type 2 (ALGS2), an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by hepatic bile duct paucity, cholestasis, and cardiac, skeletal, and ophthalmologic abnormalities. Facial features are characteristic, and renal/vascular involvement may occur.
