IL2는 성숙한 T 세포에서 주로 발현되며, B 세포 증식, 자연살해세포 활성 증진, 그리고 과립구-대식세포 콜로니 형성 억제에 중요한 역할을 합니다.
유사 유전자의 결손은 마우스에서 궤양성 대장염 유사 질환을 유발하며, 이는 항원 자극에 대한 면역 반응 조절과 관련이 있습니다.
IL2RA 유전자의 돌연변이는 interleukin 2 receptor alpha deficiency와 관련이 있습니다.
