- In sandwich ELISAs, cross-reactivity is observed as follows:

- <5% with recombinant rat IL-1ra
- <2% with recombinant porcine IL-1ra
- <0.4% with recombinant human IL-1ra
- <0.2% with recombinant equine IL-1β
- Reconstitute at 0.2 mg/mL in sterile PBS.

The protein encoded by this gene is a cytokine receptor belonging to the interleukin 1 receptor family. It acts as a receptor for interleukin alpha (IL1A), interleukin beta (IL1B), and interleukin 1 receptor type I (IL1R1/IL1RA).
This receptor plays a key role in cytokine-induced immune and inflammatory responses. The gene forms part of a cytokine receptor cluster on chromosome 2q12, along with IL1R2, IL1RL2, and IL1RL1.
