Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human TFF-2. Anti-Human TFF-2-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human TFF-2 by sandwich ELISA (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody. When used with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human TFF-2 (500-P312) as a capture antibody, it allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human TFF-2.

Western Blot:
For detection of Human TFF-2 by Western Blot, use 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. With compatible development reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Human TFF-2 is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

Trefoil peptides are protease-resistant molecules secreted throughout the gut, playing a role in mucosal healing and gastrointestinal epithelial protection. These peptides contain three intrachain disulfide bonds forming the trefoil motif (P-domain).
Trefoil factor 2 (TFF2), also known as spasmolytic polypeptide (SP), inhibits gastrointestinal motility and gastric acid secretion. It may act as a structural component of gastric mucus by stabilizing glycoproteins through carbohydrate side chain interactions. Downregulation of SP expression is associated with primary gastric cancer and may contribute to early gastric carcinogenesis.
