Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat SDF-1alpha (CXCL12). Anti-Rat SDF-1alpha (CXCL12)-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography employing an immobilized Rat SDF-1alpha (CXCL12) matrix.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Rat SDF-1alpha (CXCL12) by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.5–2.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required. This antigen affinity purified antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Biotinylated Anti-Rat SDF-1alpha (CXCL12) (500-P315Bt) as a detection antibody, allows the detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat SDF-1alpha (CXCL12).

Western Blot:
To detect Rat SDF-1alpha by Western Blot analysis, this antibody can be used at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant Rat SDF-1alpha is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane, under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information

CXCL12 is a stromal cell-derived alpha chemokine member of the intercrine family. This gene product and its receptor CXCR4 can activate lymphocytes and have been implicated in metastasis of cancers such as breast cancer. Mutations in this gene are associated with resistance to human immunodeficiency virus type 1 infections. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
