Target Information
STK39 (also known as STLK3) is involved in the cellular stress response pathway. It becomes activated under hypotonic stress, leading to phosphorylation of several cation-chloride-coupled co-transporters. STK39 also activates the p38 MAP kinase pathway, and its interaction with p38 decreases during cellular stress. It acts as an intermediate in stress response and is known as an independent risk factor for hypertension in men, with intragenic SNPs influencing blood pressure regulation.
