Product Specific Information
Antibody detects endogenous levels of PDCD4 only when phosphorylated at Serine 67.
Target Information
Apoptosis (programmed cell death) is essential for development, tissue turnover, and tumor formation. PDCD4 encodes a tumor suppressor protein whose expression is lost in several carcinomas (breast, colon, lung, prostate). It inhibits the helicase activity of eIF4A and the AP-1-mediated transactivation. Akt kinase regulates PDCD4 by phosphorylation at Ser67, reducing its inhibitory function. Two isoforms of PDCD4 are known.
