Target Information
The protein encoded by the TRIM55 gene contains a RING zinc finger motif involved in protein–protein interactions. It transiently associates with microtubules, myosin, and titin during muscle sarcomere assembly. Acts as a transient adaptor and plays a regulatory role in sarcomere assembly. Four alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described.
