Target Information
CDK8 phosphorylates the carboxy-terminal domain of the largest subunit of RNA polymerase II. This protein is coexpressed and copurified with Cyclin C.
CDK8 belongs to the cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) family, which are key regulators of cell cycle progression. CDK8 and Cyclin C may interact with RNA polymerase, influencing transcription mechanisms that lead to cell division.
