Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot and freeze at -20°C or below.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if solution is not clear after standing.
- Stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid. Dilute only before immediate use.
- Reacts specifically with human MEK1.
- Purified via Protein A from tissue culture supernatant.
- Cross-reactivity expected with human, mouse, and rat based on peptide sequence identity.
- Does not react with MEK2 isoform.
Target Information
MAP2K1 (MEK1) is a dual-specificity kinase functioning in MAPK cascades, regulating cell growth and differentiation. Activated by various growth factors, cytokines, and membrane depolarization. Phosphorylation at serine 218 and 222 by Raf1 activates MEK1. Involved in stress response, apoptosis, and cytokine-induced proliferation. Mutations may cause cardiofaciocutaneous syndrome.
