Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature. The product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid and should be diluted only prior to immediate use.
Reacts specifically with human ERK2. Purified from tissue culture supernatant by Protein A purification. Cross-reactivity is expected with human, mouse, and rat based on sequence identity of the peptide immunogen. This antibody does not react with the ERK1 isoform.
Target Information
MAPK1 (ERK2) is a serine/threonine kinase that acts as an important activator of p90 RSK, MSK, ELK1, and Stat3, and is involved in the MAPK pathway. MAP kinases (extracellular signal-regulated kinases, ERKs) integrate multiple biochemical signals and are involved in cellular processes such as proliferation, differentiation, transcription regulation, and development. Activation requires phosphorylation by upstream kinases, after which ERK2 translocates to the nucleus to phosphorylate nuclear targets.
