Product Specific Information
The CX1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse retinoic acid early inducible gamma (RAE-1γ) and weakly cross-reacts with RAE-1α and β, but not with δ and ε. These five RAE-1 family members, along with H60, serve as ligands for the mouse NKG2D molecule. Normally absent in adult tissues, RAE-1γ expression can be induced by retinoic acid or disease conditions such as tumors.
RAE-1α, -β, and -γ and H60 are expressed in BALB/c mice, but not in C57BL/6, whereas RAE-1δ and -ε are expressed in C57BL/6 mice. In NOD mice, both NKG2D and RAE-1 are expressed on the same NK cells, leading to self-modulation of NKG2D expression and function.

Applications Tested: Tested on YAC-1 cells and mouse splenocytes at ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.
Target Information
Mutations in Schizosaccharomyces pombe Rae1 and Saccharomyces cerevisiae Gle2 genes cause accumulation of poly(A)+ mRNA in the nucleus, suggesting a role in RNA export. The encoded protein is a homolog of yeast Rae1, containing four WD40 motifs, and localizes to nucleoplasmic foci, nuclear rim, and cytoplasmic meshwork structures. It is involved in nucleocytoplasmic transport and attachment of cytoplasmic mRNPs to the cytoskeleton. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
