Product Specific Information

The RMT1-4 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD365 (also known as TIM1 and HAVCR1), a member of the T cell immunoglobulin and mucin-like domain (TIM) family. CD365 is expressed on activated CD4+ T cells, mast cells, and a subset of B cells. It plays roles in renal injury, tissue homeostasis, and T cell costimulation, promoting Th2 differentiation and IL-4 production.

CD365 binds several ligands including Hepatitis A virus, phosphatidylserine, TIM4, IgA, and itself, mediating uptake of apoptotic cells via phosphatidylserine recognition. Variants of CD365 are associated with susceptibility to atopic and autoimmune diseases, with certain polymorphisms linked to protection against atopy in individuals previously infected with HAV.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse CD365 (TIM1) transfected cells. Recommended ≤ 0.5 µg/test in 100 µL volume. Optimize titration for best performance.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD365 (Tim-1) is a type I surface glycoprotein comprising an extracellular immunoglobulin V-like domain, a mucin domain, and a short cytoplasmic tail. Its endogenous ligand is Tim-4. CD365 functions as a receptor or co-receptor for several viruses, including hepatitis A/C, Ebola, Marburg, Dengue, Zika, West Nile, and Japanese encephalitis viruses, through phosphatidylserine binding on viral envelopes.

Polymorphisms in the human CD365 gene (HAVCR1) are associated with infection susceptibility and disease severity. CD365 is involved in T cell co-stimulation and is primarily expressed in epithelial cells, notably in A549, 769-P, and Caco-2 cell lines. A soluble form exists due to metalloproteinase-mediated cleavage.
