Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Thrombomodulin (TM), also known as Fetomodulin (FM), endothelial anticoagulant protein, or glycoprotein P112, contains six repeated domains homologous with epidermal growth factor (EGF) and an amino terminal domain homologous to lectin-like protein.
Through its accelerated activation of protein C, TM synthesis helps maintain thrombo-resistance and reduce clot formation on endothelial cell surfaces.
Immunohistochemical staining of formalin-fixed tissue for TM has been used in studies of vascular tumors, meningiomas, and choriocarcinomas.
