Product Specific Information
- For IHC (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Formalin-fixed tissues require heat-induced epitope retrieval:
- Heat in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C.
- Cool at room temperature for 20 minutes before staining.
Target Information
Thrombomodulin (TM), also known as Fetomodulin (FM), endothelial anticoagulant protein, or glycoprotein P112, is a membrane glycoprotein expressed on endothelial cells.
It contains six EGF-like domains and a lectin-like N-terminal domain. TM accelerates activation of protein C, contributing to thrombo-resistance and reduction of clot formation.
Immunohistochemical detection of TM is useful in the study of various vascular tumors, meningiomas, and choriocarcinomas.
