Target Information
Tis7, also known as IFRD1, is a 442 amino acid membrane-associated, non-nuclear intracellular protein belonging to the IFRD family. It is a regulatory protein expressed in various tissues and plays an important role in gene activity regulation during proliferative and differentiative pathways induced by NGF.
Tis7 may act as an autocrine factor modulating ligand-induced signaling and promoting the production of differentiated enterocytes. It functions as a negative regulator of transcriptional activity and represses genes involved in myogenesis, muscle maintenance, and regeneration through a histone deacetylase-dependent mechanism.
