This antibody detects endogenous levels of total MUC6 protein.
Target Information
Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins with approximately 80% carbohydrate content and 20% protein core. Gastric mucin is normally found in the human gastrointestinal tract. The resurgence of gastric mucin reactivity during colonic carcinogenesis is associated with re-expression of the peptide core of gastric (or fetal colonic) mucins.
