For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18) belongs to the type A (acidic) subfamily of low molecular weight keratins and pairs with cytokeratin 8. It is expressed in epithelial tissues of the gastrointestinal, respiratory, and urogenital tracts, as well as endocrine, exocrine, and mesothelial cells.
Cytokeratin 18 is primarily found in non-squamous epithelia and is expressed in most adenocarcinomas and ductal carcinomas, but not in squamous cell carcinomas. Hepatocellular carcinomas express only cytokeratins 8 and 18.
Mutations in the KRT18 gene have been associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein are known.
Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns are increasingly used to distinguish epithelial malignancies. Cytokeratin antibodies are valuable tools for tumor differential diagnosis via immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
