Mouse anti-Bovine CD28, clone CC220 recognizes the bovine homologue of human CD28, a co-stimulatory cell surface molecule expressed by T cell subsets.
Target Information
CD28 antigen is a 44 kDa disulfide-linked homodimeric T cell-specific surface glycoprotein. It belongs to the immunoglobulin superfamily and is constitutively expressed on most peripheral blood T lymphocytes. CD28 provides the critical co-stimulatory signal to T cells by binding CD80 and CD86 on antigen-presenting cells, preventing anergic or apoptotic states. Expression patterns vary across thymic maturation stages, with highest levels on immature T cells. CD28 dysfunction is associated with diseases such as mycosis fungoides and Sezary’s Disease.
