Mouse anti-Pig CD27 antibody, clone B30C7, recognizes the porcine homologue of human CD27, previously known as Swine Workshop Cluster 2 (SWC2). CD27 is a T-cell co-stimulatory molecule belonging to the TNF receptor family.

Target Information

CD27 is a 50 kDa member of the TNF receptor superfamily, including CD40 and CD30. Members of this family regulate cell proliferation and death. CD27 and its ligand CD70 expression are mainly confined to lymphocytes. High CD27 expression depends on antigen receptor ligation, while CD70 requires co-stimulatory or inflammatory signals.

CD27 is expressed as a disulfide-linked homodimer on mature thymocytes, peripheral blood T cells, and a subset of B cells. T-cell activation via TCR-CD3 complex induces CD27 upregulation and release of soluble CD27 (28–32 kDa), detectable in plasma, urine, or spinal fluid. Soluble CD27 serves as a prognostic marker for acute and chronic B-cell malignancies.

RgpA, a cysteine proteinase, degrades CD27 and counteracts T-cell activation mediated by CD27/CD70. CD27-binding protein (SIVA) is a proapoptotic protein that binds to CD27 and may play a role in apoptosis induced by this receptor. Diseases associated with CD27 dysfunction include Lymphoproliferative Syndrome 2 and Autosomal Recessive Lymphoproliferative Syndrome.
