Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
TET1 is a dioxygenase that specifically binds methylcytosine (5mC), a minor base in mammalian DNA crucial for retrotransposon silencing and development. It catalyzes the conversion of 5mC to 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (hmC). Although the precise function of hmC remains unclear, it may influence chromatin structure or act as an intermediate in cytosine demethylation. hmC is enriched in embryonic stem cells and brain tissue, particularly Purkinje neurons, and may play roles in fetal heart, lung, and brain development.
