This antibody is directed against the FLAG™ epitope tag and detects its presence in overexpressed proteins across various assays. It recognizes the FLAG™ epitope (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys) fused to either the amino- or carboxy-termini of target proteins in transfected or transformed cells.

Target Information

The DYKDDDDK tag (FLAG tag) is an eight–amino acid peptide (Asp-Tyr-Lys-Asp-Asp-Asp-Asp-Lys) used as a protein tag to aid purification, detection, and localization. It can be fused to the N- or C-terminus of a protein, allowing for easy identification and isolation using anti-FLAG antibodies.
Widely used in molecular biology and biochemistry, it supports applications including protein-protein interaction studies, expression analysis, and localization assays.
The FLAG tag’s hydrophilic nature minimizes protein denaturation or inactivation.
