Product Specific Information
Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration. For extended storage, aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below. Avoid freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge if not clear after standing at room temperature. Product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as undiluted liquid; dilute only before use.
This antibody specifically detects human and mouse AKT protein phosphorylated at S473. BLAST analysis indicates cross-reactivity with AKT pS473 from human, mouse, rat, and chimpanzee based on 100% sequence homology. Cross-reactivity with AKT2 and AKT3 has not been determined.
Target Information
AKT1 (PKB alpha) is a serine/threonine kinase regulating cell survival. Activated AKT1 inhibits apoptosis and promotes cell cycle progression by phosphorylating multiple substrates across various cell types, including cancer cells. It is activated by insulin, PI3K, IGF1, and other growth factors. The AKT pathway is a major target for cancer drug discovery.
