Product Specific Information
This product is preservative-free. It is recommended to add sodium azide to avoid contamination (final concentration 0.05%–0.1%).
Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned, and individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.
Advantages include:
- Better specificity and sensitivity
- Lot-to-lot consistency
- Animal origin-free formulations
- Broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
This antibody has specificity for Mouse LY9/CD229/SLAMF3.
Target Information
CD229 (Ly9) is a cell surface receptor of the CD150 family, which also includes CD48 and CD224. These receptors regulate cytokine production and cytotoxicity of lymphocytes and NK cells.
High levels of CD229 are found on T and B cells, where expression increases during maturation. It is absent on granulocytes, bone marrow-derived dendritic cells, platelets, and erythrocytes. CD229 is also reported on mouse monocytes and NK cells.
CD229 interacts homophilically through its N-terminal domain and localizes to the contact site between T cells and antigen-presenting B cells during antigen-dependent immune synapse formation.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
