Target Information
ZNF839, also known as C14orf131, is an 811 amino acid protein containing one C2H2-type zinc finger. The gene encoding ZNF839 localizes to chromosome 14, and four isoforms are expressed due to alternative splicing. Chromosome 14 comprises about 700 genes and 106 million base pairs, representing approximately 3.5% of human DNA. It encodes genes such as PSEN1 (associated with Alzheimer’s disease) and SERPINA1 (linked to alpha1-antitrypsin deficiency). The immunoglobulin heavy chain locus on chromosome 14 is also known to fuse with chromosome 19 encoded BCL3 in (14;19) translocations found in various B cell malignancies.
