Target Information
SCAND1 (SCAN domain containing 1), also known as RAZ1 or SDP1, is a nuclear protein that may play a role in transcription regulation. It is widely expressed, with highest levels in kidney, thyroid, liver, prostate, and testis.
SCAND1 contains one SCAN box domain and, unlike most other SCAN domain proteins, lacks a zinc finger motif. The SCAN box domain (~60 amino acids) participates in protein–protein interactions.
SCAND1 interacts with ZNF38, ZNF191, MZF-1, ZNF202, and PPARγ, suggesting a role in transcriptional regulation of genes involved in energy homeostasis and lipid metabolism.
