  • Reconstitution:
    Briefly centrifuge vial before opening to collect contents at the bottom.
    Reconstitute MIP-5 in sterile, distilled water to a concentration of 0.1–1.0 mg/mL.
    Further dilutions should be made in aqueous buffers supplemented with carrier protein (e.g., 0.1–1.0% BSA).

  • Storage:
    Lyophilized preparation is stable at room temperature for 1 month.
    After reconstitution, aliquot and store at ≤ -20°C for up to 3 months with carrier protein.
    Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.

Target Information

This gene is located in a cluster of similar genes on chromosome 17. These genes encode CC cytokines—secreted proteins characterized by two adjacent cysteines. The gene product is chemotactic for T cells and monocytes and acts through the C-C chemokine receptor type 1 (CCR1). The proprotein is further processed into multiple smaller functional peptides. Naturally occurring readthrough transcripts extend into the downstream gene, CCL14 (chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 14).
