Target Information
CDH8 (Cadherin-8)은 칼슘 의존적 세포 간 접착을 매개하는 막 단백질로, cadherin superfamily에 속하는 type II classical cadherin입니다.
이 단백질은 큰 N-말단 세포외 도메인, 단일 막관통 도메인, 그리고 보존된 C-말단 세포질 도메인으로 구성되어 있습니다.
세포외 도메인은 다섯 개의 cadherin motif를 포함하며, 단백질의 동일세포 접착 특이성을 결정합니다.
Type II cadherin은 Type I cadherin의 HAV recognition sequence가 결여되어 있으며, 뇌에서 발현되어 시냅스 접착, 축삭 성장 및 유도에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
