Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Human Interleukin 9 (IL9) was first identified based on its proliferative activity on a human myeloid leukemic cell line. Human IL9 stimulates proliferation of the megakaryocytic leukemic cell line M07e, supports erythroid colony formation, and synergizes with IL4 in the production of IgE and IgG.
The IL9 receptor (IL9R) belongs to the hematopoietin receptor superfamily. Mouse and human IL9R cDNAs have been isolated, encoding transmembrane proteins with 53% sequence identity and containing 468 and 533 amino acid residues, respectively.
Several isoforms of IL9R, including a putative soluble form, have been identified. IL9R is expressed in various hematopoietic cells, including T cells, neutrophils, mast cells, and macrophages.
