Target Information

CAMK2B (CaMKII beta) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in synaptic plasticity, vesicle mobilization, and gene expression regulation.
It functions prominently in the central nervous system, contributing to long-term potentiation and neurotransmitter release.
Four CaMKII isozymes (alpha, beta, gamma, delta) may be co-expressed in various tissues.
CaMKII alpha undergoes autophosphorylation on Thr286 upon Ca²⁺/CaM binding, a process known as Ca²⁺/CaM trapping, associated with synaptic information encoding.
