Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of Src only when phosphorylated at Ser17.
Target Information
SRC is a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase and proto-oncogene involved in embryonic development and cell growth regulation. It associates with the cytoplasmic region of various cell surface receptors to facilitate signal transduction and plays a role in cytoskeletal organization, cell cycle regulation, and apoptosis.
In humans, SRC is located on chromosome 20. Its activity is regulated by phosphorylation at Tyr416 and Tyr527, which have opposing effects on enzyme activity. Mutations in SRC may contribute to malignant progression of colon cancer. Two transcript variants encoding the same SRC protein have been identified.
