This antibody detects endogenous levels of Ku80 only when phosphorylated at Ser145.
Target Information
The Ku80 protein (encoded by XRCC5) is the 80-kDa subunit of the Ku heterodimer, also known as ATP-dependent DNA helicase II or DNA repair protein XRCC5. Ku functions as the DNA-binding component of the DNA-dependent protein kinase complex and works with the DNA ligase IV–XRCC4 complex to repair DNA double-strand breaks via non-homologous end joining and to complete V(D)J recombination. Mutations in this gene can impair DNA repair and recombination, and certain polymorphisms are associated with cancer susceptibility and radiosensitivity.
