Antibody detects endogenous levels of total KNG1.
Target Information
KNG1 gene produces two proteins through alternative splicing: high molecular weight kininogen (HMWK) and low molecular weight kininogen (LMWK).
- HMWK: Essential for blood coagulation and assembly of the kallikrein-kinin system. Releases bradykinin, a peptide with various physiological effects.
- LMWK: Not involved in blood coagulation.
Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
