Description:
The eBioHMb1-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse and rat CD29 (integrin beta 1), a 110–120 kDa member of the beta integrin family expressed by leukocytes, endothelial, smooth muscle, and epithelial cells. CD29 forms complexes with alpha integrins (CD49a–f and CD51), mediating cell adhesion, trafficking, proliferation, and differentiation. CD29-containing integrins interact with extracellular matrix proteins such as collagen, laminin, fibronectin, and vitronectin, as well as cellular receptors including VCAM-1 and MadCAM-1.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is suitable for flow cytometric analysis and has been shown to block VLA-dependent cellular functions, including tumor cell adhesion and T-cell proliferation induced by anti-CD3 monoclonal antibody.

Applications Tested:
Validated for flow cytometry using mouse spleen, thymus, and bone marrow cells at ≤1 µg/test. A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains cells in 100 µL final volume. Recommended to titrate for optimal assay performance.

Target Information

ITGB1 (Integrin Subunit Beta 1, CD29):
A 110 kDa cell surface glycoprotein expressed by various cell types, including all leukocytes. Forms heterodimers with multiple alpha chains (α1–α6), defining VLA integrins. Plays a key role in cell adhesion, migration, and immune cell trafficking. Expression levels correlate with tumor cell drug resistance and inflammatory responses. Exists in two major isoforms, beta1A (ubiquitous) and beta1D (cardiac/skeletal muscle-specific).
