This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Collagen III.
Target Information
Collagen III is a fibrillar collagen found in extensible connective tissues such as skin, lung, and the vascular system, often in association with type I Collagen. Mutations in this gene are associated with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type IV and with aortic and arterial aneurysms. Although alternate transcripts have been detected, they are typically mutation-induced and result in splicing errors leading to exon exclusion.
