This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Cyclin G.
Target Information
Cyclins are regulatory subunits of Cdc2 p34 and related cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks), playing critical roles in cell cycle progression.
- Cyclin A and B complexes control S phase and G2–M transition.
- G1 cyclins (D1, E) regulate G1–S transition.
- Cyclin G contains an N-terminal cyclin box and a C-terminal domain homologous to the tyrosine phosphorylation site of EGFR.
- Cyclin G expression increases within 3 hours after growth stimulation and remains elevated independently of the cell cycle.
- Cyclin G2 shares 53% amino acid identity with Cyclin G1, with peak expression in late S phase, while Cyclin G1 expression is constitutive.
