Target Information

STAT1 (Signal Transducers and Activators of Transcription 1) is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. It can be activated by interferon-alpha, interferon-gamma, EGF, PDGF, and IL6, regulating genes involved in cell growth, apoptosis, immune responses, and lipid metabolism.
STAT1 plays a key role in mediating cell viability in response to various stimuli and pathogens. The STAT1 gene is located on chromosome 2 and is activated via phosphorylation by JAK kinases, leading to nuclear translocation and transcriptional regulation.
Among the seven STAT types (STAT1, STAT2, STAT3, STAT4, STAT5a, STAT5b, STAT6), STAT1 has a broad activation profile and responds to multiple ligands, including:

• IFN family (IFN-α, IFN-β, IFN-γ, IL-10)
• gp130 family (IL-6, IL-11, LIF, CNTF, G-CSF)
• Receptor tyrosine kinases (EGF, PDGF, CSF-1)
